With a vision and heart for the people of Tomball, Dr. Harold Clayton begain Southwinds Baptist Church on September 8, 1991. The first service was held in a retail strip mall on FM 2920 with 100 in attendance that day; including 15 charter members.

In 1992, the church purchased 12 acres of land which included an old farm house that was renovated to serve as the first sanctuary. As time went by and the church grew, more buildings were constructed to serve the needs of the growing congregation. Southwinds currently has 5 buildings on site with a flourishing Mother’s Day Out program and Christian Academy during the week.

In the history of the church, there have been 3 pastors: Dr. Harold Clayton, David Maulsby, and currently, Pastor Andy Chute.
